09/03 (PRESS RELEASE) LessWaiting.com has launched a new search engine with features like background color selection, domain-specific search, and optional mobile-optimized results. It is free of banner advertisements, cookies, pop-ups, and pay-per-click links. LessWaiting.com Search is available in Standard and Mobile versions. The latter version is optimized for mobile devices and text-only browsers like Lynx. It leaves out incompatible formatting and colors, while automatically prioritizing text-based and mobile-optimized websites. The standard version offers a more attractive design and allows users to select a background color of their choice, while maintaining a home page download size of under 1K. This compares favorably with other engines like Yahoo (135K), America Online (61K), and Microsoft's Live Search (24K). Search result page downloads are typically 1/15-1/7th the size of pages from other engines, while providing larger text and the same number of results. The mobile/text version result pages are even more compact, allowing them to load quickly on just about any internet connection. The lack of "cookies" on LessWaiting.com Search improves privacy, decreases loading time, and saves space on the user's hard disk drive. It also prevents users with cookies turned off (or browsers which cannot process them) from experiencing any technical problems. Whereas most mobile-friendly search engines only provide results in a different format, LessWaiting.com Search's mobile version puts mobile-optimized websites first in its results. Visitors can easily locate these sites when entering one-word searches like "dictionary", "classifieds", and "weather". Both versions let users restrict their searches to a specific website domain type, by entering "gov-only", "edu-only", "net-only", or "org-only" anywhere in their search queries. This is helpful when it's necessary to obtain information from reputable sources or locate websites of a specific type. LessWaiting.com Search has already started receiving search requests from users and its search boxes have been placed on five other websites. Additional efforts to promote the new engine are soon to be underway. Links:
