01/07 (LWN) A recall of approximately ten thousand Master Forge gas grills was announced on Wednesday. The manufacturer is offering a free repair kit to fix the hazardous defect.

The grills, which are manufactured by Sagittarius Sporting Goods and imported by L G Sourcing, were sold throughout the U.S. at Lowe's home improvement stores. They were available in September, October, and November 2009. The Chinese-made grill was priced at around $500 USD.

A rubber hose connected to the gas tank can melt and come apart, which has the potential to cause burns or start a fire. The recalled grill is model number L3218. Owners of this product are urged not to use the grill until it has been successfully repaired.
